About Grounding

Ensure the effectiveness of your electric fence with proper grounding using our components available at FG Edwards. Grounding is the most often underestimated element of an electric fence system—without good current return through the ground, even the best energizer won't deliver a sufficient shock to deter your animals.

We offer galvanized steel grounding rods in various lengths, connecting clamps to join the rods to each other and to the energizer, and insulated grounding cables. We recommend a minimum of one rod per joule of power, driven into moist soil and spaced at least three meters apart. Use only galvanized rods—rebar rusts and becomes insulating over time, compromising your entire system.

Visit us in West Brome or Bedford for advice on your installation. Also, check out our fence testers to verify the effectiveness of your grounding and our energizers for the core of your system.
