About Perennial flowers
Investing in perennial flower seeds means planting once and enjoying them for years to come. Unlike annuals, hardy perennials return every spring, often becoming more beautiful and prolific from one season to the next, and can be divided to fill new areas of the garden. FG Edwards offers a selection of perennial seeds chosen for their resilience in the winters of Quebec's Eastern Townships: echinaceas, rudbeckias, lupins, delphiniums, daylilies, hardy geraniums, yarrow, and many more.
Some perennials are easy to sow and bloom in their first year, such as rudbeckias and echinaceas. Others require cold stratification to germinate properly—a simple step that mimics natural winter conditions. Sowing indoors in early spring or directly outdoors in autumn generally gives the best results. Once established, perennials require little maintenance and are remarkably resistant to summer droughts and harsh winters.
