About Testers

Diagnose and optimize your electric fence with our testers and voltmeters available at FG Edwards. A fence tester is the only reliable way to verify that your system is working correctly—a fence can appear to be in good condition visually but have a voltage that is too low to deter your animals due to an invisible current leak.

We offer indicator light testers for quick field checks, digital voltmeters that display the exact voltage in kilovolts, and leak detectors that help you pinpoint problems along your line. Test your fence regularly—at a minimum at the beginning of the grazing season and after every storm. A minimum voltage of 3,000 to 4,000 volts at the end of the line is recommended for most farm animals.
