About Tensioners and springs

Maintain the correct tension in your fence wires with our tensioners and springs, available from FG Edwards. Sagging fence wire loses its effectiveness—animals can pass over or under it—and a loose electric conductor touches vegetation and loses its charge. Tensioners and springs correct and maintain tension season after season.

We offer screw tensioners for gradually adjusting the tension of galvanized wire and barbed wire, as well as tension springs that absorb shocks and temperature variations. In Quebec, the temperature difference between summer and winter causes considerable variation in the tension of wire—a tension spring compensates for this expansion and keeps the wire taut year-round without intervention.
