Canarm - Mounting Bracket for Heated Waterer

The Canarm H0514 bracket is designed to secure the waterer firmly to a fence post, board fence, or barn wall. Installation:

1. Select the mounting location: The waterer should be positioned at a height where all animals in the herd can comfortably access the bowl — typically 45–60 cm (18–24") from ground level for cattle, lower for calves or sheep.
2. Mark mounting holes: Hold the bracket against the mounting surface and mark the hole positions with a pencil or marker.
3. Pre-drill if mounting to wood: Use a drill bit slightly smaller than your lag bolt diameter to prevent wood splitting.
4. Secure the bracket: Use heavy-duty lag bolts or carriage bolts through solid structural lumber (minimum 2x6). Do not mount to thin or rotted wood.
5. Hang the waterer: Most Canarm waterers have mounting slots on the back panel that hook over the bracket.
6. Level and adjust: Confirm the bowl is level for proper float operation before final tightening.

Ensure the mounting surface can bear the weight of the full waterer (a full H100 weighs approximately 40–50 kg when filled).

The H0514 bracket is designed primarily for flat mounting surfaces (boards, planks, barn walls). Mounting on a round post requires either a post adaptor plate (a flat plate bolted around the round post) or banding straps, which are available at most farm supply stores.

For round post installations, the standard approach is:

• Bolt a treated 2x8 or 2x10 board vertically to the round post using heavy post clamps or u-bolts.
• Mount the H0514 bracket to the flat face of the board.
• This creates a stable, flat mounting surface at the correct height.

Do not attempt to bolt the bracket directly to a round post without a flat surface — uneven contact will result in bracket movement and potential waterer tipping under animal pressure.
